U namjeri da potaknu interes za studiranjem primijenjene matematike "Udruženje indrustrijske i primjenjene matematike" (SIAM) je objavilo novo izdanje svoje brošure "Matematičke profesije.pdf" koja redovno izlazi još od 2003g.

Publikacija na svojih dvadeset stranica sadrži informacije namjenjene srednjoškolcima i studentima i tiču se aktualnih kretanja u poslovnom svijetu gdje trebaju mladi ljudi sa matematičkom naobrazbom.

Navedene su kompanije, organizacije i institucije koje često zapošljavaju primjenjene matematičare i stručnjake za informacione tehnologije te stručnjaci koji već rade za Google, IBM, Michelin, Merck, Agenciju nacionalne sigurnosti itd...Brošura razmatra pitanja kao:

Gdje mogu raditi?
U kojoj grani privrede su ovog trenutka potrebni matematičari?
Kako da studiram?
Ko su ljudi koji danas rade u industriji?

Brošura se može preuzeti sa SIAM stranice. Informacije o razvoju matematičke karijere se takođe dostupne na stranicima Udruženja američkih matematičara i Sloan centra.
